Date: 08 December, 2010 10:29AM Hello there,
We've had a new FY2 start with us recently and she has been running our INR clinic this week. However, the RAT programme will not let her search for a patient, when she enters the patients details she gets the following message, "No patient was found with these criteria... Please enter new details" Any ideas as to what could be happening? She is using a computer where the RAT programme has worked without a problem before, and is usually used for the INR clinic on a weekly basis. Many thanks in advance for any help or advice. Kind regards, Neil Erskine. Re: Searching For Patients

Can you check if the patient is actually on the database. Go to the top toolbar, click on the 'spectacles' icon to the top right. This is the audit screen. There is a list on the left, scroll down and choose the option 'List all patients' Then click 'Run search' This will give you all patients in the active list and archived list. Also check how the F2 is entering the search criteria. Easiest way is to just use the first letter of the patient's surname. Also click on the 'magnet' icon to list all the patients due for review. See if the patient is on this list. Hope this helps Colm Rafferty Re: Searching For Patients

Date: 14 December, 2010 10:02AM Hello Colm,
Tried that yesterday, but there are still no patients coming through on the system. Oddly enough though, when the FY2 tries a different PC, she can get access no problem at all. Yours, a little confused, Neil Erskine. Re: Searching For Patients

Date: 14 December, 2010 04:11PM Dear Ian,
I think I might know what has happened. This PC has lost the link to the main database (INR.MD ![]() To check this... Go to the other RAT PC that is working correctly . Start RAT. Go to the top menu, choose the menu item : 'Help' A submenu will appear. Choose 'About RAT'. A window will appear. In this window will be the path to the INR.MDB database. It will be something like //network_path/INR/MDB or maybe S:\Rat database\INR.MDB Remember this path and then go to your first PC. Do the same steps as above on your PC The path will probably be C:\Program files\Rat Version 3\INR.MDB This is a defunct database will no information on it. TO RECONNECT YOUR PC TO THE MAIN DATABASE (INR.MD ![]() Go to the top menu on RAT Choose 'Database': a submenu will appear Choose 'Change the network database'. A window will appear. You then need to drill down to the network folder/path where the main INR.MDB database is stored Use the 'My network places' icon to get there It may not be obvious why the link has been broken between your PC and the main networked database. It is obviously difficult to know what happened, but something in the network caused the link to disconnect. Re: Searching For Patients

That was indeed the case Colm, it had just lost the network path to the database, got it sorted and just in time for this weeks INR clinic, phew. Thanks a lot for the help and advice, very much appreciated. All the best, Neil.
