accessing patient details

hu there,
we are having some difficulty accessing certain patient details. This only occurs when there are two or more patients with the same surname. When you go to enter the patient's surname and then christian name the system freezes. Thus updates to that patient cannot be entered. No other problems elsewhere.

Dear Victor,
This is a known bug in older versions of the software.
If dosage recommendations were manually adjusted and 'day' fields left empty the bug occurs.

TO RESOLVE...

Can I ask you to firstly make a copy of the database: INR.MDB
You will find it at 'C:\Program files\Rat version 3\'
Copy this file to a temporary folder on your PC.
(if you have RAT on a number of PCs, the INR.MDB file will be on the network somewhere. It may be on the server)

Next... Can I ask you to update to the latest version.
Download the update file from the website.
Double-click it when downloaded.
Make sure RAT is not running when you do this.
(If you have RAT on a number of PCs, please update all PCs)

The new version has important updates.

Then start RAT. Go to the top menu..
Choose Utilities -> database A window will appear. Choose 'Repair database'
Then click OK
Then try again to access the patient details

Make sure that the current dosage of warfarin is correct for that patient.
The 'bug' may have altered the dose regimen.

Regards
Colm Rafferty
