There some occaisions when the warfarin is not stopped for 3 days as suggested by RAT, particularly in patients with a mechanical heart valve. How do I make adjustments on the RAT programme to reflect this.

It depends on the current INR
You can modify the most recent weekly warfarin dose to the dose the patient was actually taking so that RAT can calculate the new dose based on todays INR

Dear Karen,

Have you been using RAT for some time?
If so and you have been using RAT on a number of PCs, then you need to know where the main RAT database is stored: 'INR.MDB'
Your previous PCs would all have pointed to this one database.
It may be on the server.
Yopu need to re-link each of the new PCs to this database :

Go to the top menu on RAT
Go to the menu item Database->Change network database
A popup window will appear.
From the pull-down combo box, choose 'network neighbourhood'
You then need to find the server and the shared folder/drive.
Once you get to it the INR.MDB file will appear.
Click OK once you have selected it.

Also, what is the name of your Practice?

Colm Rafferty
