Date: 16 October, 2008 07:29PM Have RAT installed on 3 machines but ususally only use one of them. Has never worked properly on computer number 2 as it frequently came up with error message:
:Runtime error 339 Component SMTHLP32.OCX or one of its dependencies not currently registered. a file is missing or invalid: Now need to use computer no2 on a more regular basis. How can I correct this error? Thanks for any advice. Ian P.S. just updated all 3 machines to version 3.8 and saved database to a pen drive without any obvious problems: error message still shows on computer number 2 Re: Run Time Error 339

I think it is because 'computer 2' did not have a full RAT install initially. Try downloading and running the full RAT install software on 'computer 2'. [www.formulae.co.uk] This wont affect the main database (INR.MD file Regards Colm Rafferty Re: Run Time Error 339

Date: 21 October, 2008 06:06PM Hi Colm,
Thanks for your help - so far! Downloaded the full version of 3.8 onto computer 2. Then loaded in up to date database from last weeks results. This seems to have cured Run Time Error 339. HOWEVER: Did today's clinic (except for one patient's results ) on my computer, computer1. Ran perfectly. But the results did not update onto computer 2, but did update onto computer 3 ( in the Practice Manager's room ). Did the one remaining patient on computer 2 but this did not update onto the database on either computer 1 or computer3. Obviously computer 2 is not connecting into the network. Would be grateful for your further advice as to how to correct this. Thanks Ian Re: Run Time Error 339

Yes that sounds right. computer 2 is not connected to the correct database. Go to computer 1 & 3 On each one , start RAt , go to top menu. Choose 'Help' A submenu will appear Choose 'About RAT' A window will appear. In the middle to the window you will see a path to the INR.MDB database, possibly something like : \\your_server_name\rat_folder\INR.MDB This tells you where the main INR.MDB database is. If you have INR.MDB stored on either computer 1 , then computer 1 will read C:\Program files\Rat version 3\INR.MDB and computer 3 will read something like \\computer_1\Program files\Rat version 3\INR.MDB You now need to connect to it from computer 2 On computer 2... 1.Go to the menu item Database->Change network database 2. A popup menu will appear. 3. From the pull-down combo box, choose 'network neighbourhood' 4. Find the server folder or PC folder with the existing INR.MDB file 5. Select it 6. That's it Hopefully this works Colm Rafferty Re: Run Time Error 339
