runtime error 3021
Posted by: Mandy Shaw ()
Date: 13 November, 2001 09:57PM

Dear Colm,

The girls had been modifying recall times without difficulty.

This week however they have been getting an 'error message'

as above. This only occurs when they try to modify the recall

time. How do we overcome this please?

Yours sincerely,

Mandy Shaw.

Dear Mandy,
i cannot seem to reproduce this error on my database.
Do you refer to the 'modify recommendations' icon?

One temporary solution is to accept the default review date, then edit the previous INRs grid on the 'History' tab.

To trace this error, can you email me a copy of the database and the patients it is happening with?
You will find the database at:
C:\Program files\Rat Version 3
The file is called INR.MDB

Another thought
Has anyone changed the system clock on the PC in the past week?
Check the PC is set to today's date.

Regards
Colm Rafferty

Dear Colm

Something odd is going on because for the last 10 days our girls have also got a runtime error 3021 and the message No current record when trying to modify a previous anticoagulant value. This seems to happen on all patients so far tried. The clock and date are current but we have started running Rat on some Windows 2000 terminals about this time. I wonder if our database has been corrupted. I have tried the repair database utility but the problem still occurs afterwards.

Dear Roger,
Can I ask you to get the latest update firstly.
Make RAT is not running.
Double-click this file to update to Version 3.

If the error still occurs...
can you send me a copy your database also so I may have a look.

The database name is INR.MDB
You will find the database under:
C:\Program files\Rat Version 3\INR.MDB

Attach it to an email and send it to me.

I am off on hols for 1 week from this Friday
Can you get me the database by Wed so I can have a look?
I will test using Win98.

Regards
Colm Rafferty

Dear Colm

The Runtime error 3021 saga continues. It occurs on a 98 workstation as well as a Windows 2000 workstation. I desparation I downloaded the complete v3.6 from the web site and re-installed it on another Windows 2000 workstation. Great relief! - this worked faultlessly with the Modify Previous INRs part of the programme. So thinking our original (upgraded) v3.6 had somehow become corrupted, I reinstalled the freshly downloaded version on another workstation, only to find it bombed out with Runtime error 3021 as before. Whatever is going on,it does not seem to be specific to Windows 2000 and it is not consistent. This may explain why you have been unable to replicate the error at your end.

It sounds as though Mandy's problem is almost identical. Have our systems anything in common? Incidentally what is error 3021?

Regards,
Roger

Dear Roger,
Incidentally what is error 3021?
This is just a default error message saying there is a problem with the database connection.

RAT is OK a single user. Some practices (Yours & Mandy's) have glitches when using it networked (i.e viweing the database across the network).

What I need to do is set it up in our practice as a network and start testing it.
I'll keep you informed if I find anything.

Regards
Colm

Can I ask you to update to the latest version.

If you have RAT running on one PC:
stop RAT
go to www.formulae.com
Download the update file.
Double-click the downloaded file. It is called 'RAtupdate.exe'
It will automatically update your software.
To check that the update was successful , start RAT. Go to the top menu.
Choose the word 'Help'. Then a submenu will appear. Choose 'About RAT'. A window will appear
It should say 'v 3.72'

Let me know if it does not work.
